A chemical peel is a chemical exfoliation process that penetrates deeper in the skin in order for the top layers of the skin to start shedding. This process stimulates collagen and increases cellular turnover to reveal new, fresh skin. This technique is used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin.

 

Chemical peels are intended to remove the outermost layers of the skin. To accomplish this task, the chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin. Subsequently, resulting wound healing processes begin to regenerate new tissues and lastly, the dead skin eventually peels off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. How fabulous is that ?!

The Process:

 

Patients start off with a consultation where they will be asked about your skin goals are and lifestyle habits to determine the type of peel to use. A camera uv test is used to show full visibility of your skin troubles.

 

In the cabin, you will be preped with a solution to prime your face for the chemical. Patients gets a fan to help with any tingling or sting they may feel during the procedure. Then, we start the peel. It takes about 30 mins between peel prep and post-peel care. There are different types of peels depending on your skin type. You can do strong peels once every six weeks, or milder ones two or three times each month.
